In anticipation of the future Marina Bay Sands, Singapore's first official casino, the state recently saw the opening of a new casino training school, the International Club Games Training Centre (ICGTC). There, in the heart of Bukit Timah's Turf City, future croupiers, specializing in roulette and other table games, will learn the skill of card dealing and chip handling.
The school boasts 19 tables designed for card games, such as baccarat and poker, as well as three roulette tables. The idea is to imitate real casino environment to better prepare trainees, reportedly explained Siva Ramachandar, the head of ICGTC operations department. Thus far, as many as 30 students have registered for the casino school's Certificate in Dealing Casino Games program. The $4,500 course is scheduled to last six months. |
